BENY ADAYAG TEL AVIV (Tel Aviv)

 

Remember Benny the Fisherman, one of the mythological fish restaurants in Jaffa port? The restaurant was located in a renovated structure with a balcony that used to get wet from the foam of the waves, on the old dock in the southern part of the port. There, Benny the Fisherman, a colorful personality with lots of character and a ponytail, served (with his mother’s help) the best fish in Jaffa. Sometimes, he also served dishes from Tripoli and everyone was happy. A while ago, Benny’s restaurant closed, together with the rest of the businesses in the area, maybe due to the Intifada or maybe due to the port’s captains. But Benny the Fisherman hasn’t disappeared, he moved to Tel Aviv Port, and the move has done wonders. The food is excellent, a real culinary treat, the service is courteous and warm, and the atmosphere is as magical as ever, with the blue view of the sea, combined with the wonderful food proving to be a winning recipe. Price per guest: 89-120 NIS per person (a generous variety of appetizers are served, alongside a taste of the famous Chrayme, fried eggplant and additional treat (free of charge) when ordering a main course).
