Chance (Jerusalem)

The Last Chance Tavern is a new and modern bar-restaurant on the road from Jerusalem to the Dead Sea after the Almog Junction, with the same character and authenticity that everyone knows.

The tavern serves tasty and unique Israeli food. On the menu you will find hummus, homemade falafel, maklooba rice, excellent shakshuka, grilled meats, a varied and homemade salad bar, and most important, lafah and pita bread baked fresh daily on site. And for dessert there is high quality espresso and tehina cookies.

The Last Chance is a magical tavern with the wonderful atmosphere of vacation, relaxation and break from the daily grind has been providing 30 years of catering services to passers by, named after owner Danny’s very first business – a small ice cream and sandwich truck. The Last Chance is a milestone at the Dead Sea, having started out as a yellow greenhouse, pebbled floor, carpets from Sinai, and mattresses on the floor and has turned into a place to park, eat and party for area residents, passers by, tourists, friends, groups, families and local travelers.

On holidays and local festival days such as the Dead Sea Love Festival, and sometimes even on regular days, the tavern is overtaken with by rock and international musicians coming for festivals such as Aviv Geffen, Arcadi Duchin, Shalom Hanoch, Ido Reichel, Ivri Leader, and Ehud Bannai, as well as actors such as Hanna Azulai Espri, Yona Alian-Keshet and members of the Cameri theatre who enjoy the off-the-beaten track atmosphere.

Every Friday The Chance offers guests a traditional Tunisian lunch.

The Last Chance is certified kosher by the local rabbinate.
