One of Tel Aviv’s newest and best – St George in Jaffa”

Tel Aviv has enjoyed an explosion in new and trendy restaurants but the arrival of this chic spot in Jaffa just behind the old cobbled square of St Peter’s Church was a real find. Tasty plates of lebanese mezze arrived almost straight away, washed down with some excellent local white wine, all in a beautifully restored old stone house from another time in history. Inside is clean and cosy, with a large open kitchen where one can see the chefs at work. 

The friendliness of Elias and his father George, as well as the other lovely staff, made for a warm and unforgettable experience. The pide bread was beautiful, but the piece de resistance was the seabass which came as my main course,

covered with the tastiest calamari and large prawns. Sweet potato was the perfect accompaniment.
