BEIT SHALOM (Metula)

The Beit Shalom building is a late 19th-century house formerly owned by the first settlers in Metula.
Haim is a third-generation citizen of Metula. He is the creative life and soul of any construction and renovation, design and remodeling done for this extraordinary house, whose story goes over 100 years back. Miriam is responsible for interior design. It was she who worked out the design concept, added some unique furniture, and created the art gallery.
When approaching the house, you will find yourself on a lane of old trees and fragrant flowers and probably take your time to admire antique stone flower beds of cyclamen forming romantically secluded corners. The interior of the house is overwhelmingly cozy with its cool rocks in summer and romantic fireplace in winter.
The restaurant offers a lactovegetarian menu along with one for meat lovers. They are based on the peasant foods the first farmers of Metula would often cook.
The meat menu orchestrated by chef Assaf Ottolenghi is famous far beyond the place. Every single piece of the high quality veal gets proper treatment and ageing on site. The restaurant offers a variety of grilled, baked, and pot cooked meat dishes.
Besides, the restaurant has been carrying on the old lactovegetarian tradition with its menu that includes fresh fish (trout, salmon), farmer cheeses for special cheese and wine meals, home-made pasta, quiche pastry, various types of mezedes depending on the season, rustic soups, and salads served with country-style bread or home-made flatbreads.
The milk served with coffee at Beit Shalom Restaurant is fresh morning yield milk. When did you last enjoy a cup of coffee with real cream in it? Miriam Hod makes delightful home-made pastries to accomplish it.
Yet, the most charming thing about the restaurant is its being just a part of an incredibly cozy hotel. Beit Shalom offers elegant and cozy suites, delicious restaurant dishes, and miraculous SPA.
