THE LAST REFUGE (Eilat)
“The Last Refuge”, a fish and seafood gourmet restaurant in Eilat, is amongst the well known and most popular resorts in the southern city of Israel – and not in vein: the restaurant has a large crowd of enthusiastic clients since the days of its original location in the Sinai desert. In its recent location (‘Almog beach’ in Eilat), “The Last Refuge” is flourishing for more then two decades now; among it’s devoted guests can be found artists and media celebrities, athletes and politicians, along with many tourists from abroad, local Eilat residents and Israeli visitors from all over the country. The place has gained success due to two main advantages: an exclusively unique atmosphere – and of course, the delicious food on the menu of “The Last Refuge”.
The restaurant is well designed: Trough the wide windows can be seen a lovely view – the pastoral marina, hovering seagulls under shiny skies, and the clear blue red-sea beneath the lights of Jordanian Akaba, shining all night long. The inner space of the restaurant is thoughtfully decorated with lots of elements related to the sea (for example – fishermen’s nets, wheels of boats and a dominant navy-blue color, which reflects the deep blue of the red sea).
The chefs of the “The Last Refuge” use only high quality materials fresh from the sea, and in the kitchen the materials are treated with the respect they deserve. The menu includes assorted first courses, prime sushi, and – needles to say – a vast variety of seafood (in rich deeps and sauces) and all kinds of fish in any form, taste or cooking method (roasted in charcoal barbecue, steamed, fried or baked in the oven). In addition, you could order some delightful soups (such as crabs, clams or seafood).
