We are a smoke house and we will offer you the meatiest meat you’ve ever tasted!

The restaurant “Hamaashena” officially started its way in 2013 when the founder and owner Riv Ruder who had been awarded with the official chief cook diploma in USA returned to Israel as an avid curer! Aesthetics, innovations and uncompromised professionalism have always been the culinary art cornerstone for Ziv who has started as cook since his first days  and then as a kitchen and restaurant manager.

That is why it’s quite natural that he decided to expand his culinary horizons when he was abroad. For the two years he has spent in America Ziv got accustomed to the curing culture of, investigated and studied it though and through and has discovered his zest to curing or, in other words, curing is tasty!

Upon his return to Israel, Ziv was building his home smoke house in order to find a practical application to the theory and started developing his own style. The members of the family and  friends have turned to become the lucky persons and so-called guinea pigs of the new hobby of Ziv. Soon the hobby expressed in the rare meal, trials and errors, has resulted in the tried and tasted list of recipes of which the rich meal from the starters and desserts consisted.
Notably, even the desserts are fire or coal cooked. They are unique just like each of Ziv’s dishes!

At this stage, the occasional meal having evolved to the traditional one, it became evident that the smoke house is meant to abandon the courtyard and to let Israel get to know it a little  better! And it is exactly how it happened! The restaurant “Hamaashena” has become known in every corner of the country as the restaurant with unique ambience, highest quality of service, wide range of meat, various kinds of stew and amazing, completely coal cooked dishes as well as with unique culinary experience borne from the correct combination of perfect food, ambience and love!

In 2014 we started building the unique and impressing smoke house reconstructing the abandoned building in the center of Yaniv village at the same time. It is exactly there where we have created our smoke house “Masheena” and where we are proud to welcome friends and guests as well as to offer an exciting alternative for all the spoilers, hedonists and hungry people.

We consider our meals to be a feast, and we serve everything to the center of the table for sharing, family-style. To us, guests come to have a fun night out, to socialize and to enjoy the variety of flavors. So we ask you to select a common and single dining experience for everyone at your table, choose your drink, and relax.
Farmers’ Meal

A selection of cut, a hot side and salad, for 75-95 NIS, depending on the cut you select.

The Fifth Feast

Includes five cuts, all the hot additions and salads. A 15% discount is given on the business lunch fifth meal – 130 NIS.

Our evening service begins around 6:30pm. Our night service begins around 9:30pm. Each round of service takes about two and a half hours.

Our evening/night service offers three types of feasts; each includes a different amount of meat or alcohol. All feasts come with all of our hot sides and salads. Service is family-style, to the center of the table, and meant for sharing. Each table chooses the same feast and the meats are served gradually. Feasts are NIS 150-250 per guest, depending on the feast you select.

We have beef, lamb and different poultry. The meats and the sides served are carefully selected by our feast-master who is ensures accurate preparation and a rich variety within the feast you choose.

Our house wine is of Dalton Winery, Estate Series. Our house beer is “Red Queen” from tap.
